UK Online Safety Act (2023) has basically made it a challenging time for UK based communities. The crux of it is that we need to conduct HEAA for our users on our micro-mmo indie game to ensure they’re all adults due to some of the themes and features in the game (in-game chat, DMs, weapon crafting that ‘can be translated into real life instruction’).
Unfortunately those features, according to Ofcom, mean that minors are at risk. We can’t remove those core features from our game without jeopardizing the product, so our userbase needs to be age verified.
The simplest solution is using OneID, which is a UK PAYG mobile number verification system which is OSA compliant. https://oneid.uk/oneid-age-verification
