There are a myriad of instances where I’ve observed people attempt to style their display names using UTF-8 character sets which exist for backward compatibility with its predecessors, like those containing bold and italic versions of Latin characters (https://www.obliquity.com/computer/html/unicode1D400.html encompasses most of these).
Instead, we should permit markdown in the display name field.
